


Valerie Dreith


Short Bio
Valerie Dreith (b. 2004) is a young transgender composer currently studying at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her music is characterized by its big dramatic moments and her works span a variety of styles, instrumentations, and genres, from solo voice to full jazz big band. She has had her works played by groups such as the CCM Jazz Ensemble, the CCM Chorale, and Walnut Hills High School Percussion Ensemble, and she has studied with renown composers such as Mara Helmuth and Michael Fiday. She is also a choral singer, with the CCM Chamber Choir, and a percussionist, having marched three years with Cincinnati Tradition Drum and Bugle Corps, achieving the 2023 Director's Award and having a scholarship named in her honor.
