Hello there! My name is Valerie Dreith and I am a young trans composer currently studying at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. I write for a variety of instrumentations, but my works all focus on the concept of identity: whether it be as a specific demographic, a community centered around an idea, or even identifying with a philosophy.

This blog is intended to give more insight into each of my pieces and composition journey that I cannot fit into program notes, starting with my first arrangements in middle school all the way until present day. Once I have caught up, I will begin discussing other things, such as what I am working on now and any topics that come to mind.

I hope that you look forward to my upcoming entries!

Stay composed,

VD
