Stalactite (2021)

"Stalactite" is a piece for 8 part percussion ensemble that uses space, reverberation, and a lack of rhythm to represent the ambience and sounds of cave exploration. It features very separated patterns that are repeated at seemingly random times throughout the piece's introduction. The piece then gets in tempo with a vibraphone ostenato, building to a large cathartsis, that encapsulates the feeling of adventure, mystery, and wonder, all aspects of cave exploration.
